About

The Waiuku Rugby Supporters Club was established on the 4th February 1992 by a group of former Waiuku District Rugby Football Club stalwarts, the prime movers being John Kennedy, Graham Dickey, Tom Shackleton, John Hull, Dave Oliver, Alan Walker, Stan Ellery and Des Barriball.

The main purpose of the club was to promote rugby at all levels within the existing Club, including Junior Boys' sections. This would be achieved by fundraising and an extensive social programme. Anyone keen on rugby was welcome to join, including Ladies and Parents of junior players.

From the humble beginnings in 1992, the Club has continued to promote rugby through fundraising, thanks to a small band of committed and rugby loving people. Over the intervening years a vast array of successful social events have been held and many well supported fundraising activities have enabled the Club to make substantial donations, not only to the WDRFC, but also to the Waiuku Junior Boys Club and Waiuku College Rugby.

More recently, with changes to the liquor laws and family circumstances, the social programme has waned, however the fundraising activities continue in earnest with outstanding support from the rugby fraternity and the community as a whole.

Our AGM is held in February and we have one or two Committee meetings during the rugby season. New committee members are always very welcome.

Our Membership is open to anyone wishing to join, out current fees being $80 single or $100 double. This entitles members to be in the 16 x $100 draws during the rugby season and to participate in the major promotion we run each year.

If you would like to be part of this enterprising club, please contact any one of our Committee Members.
